Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines and Incinerators
Installation of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine
Sanitary napkin vending machines are a public distribution format for sanitary napkins that can be crucial in easing access to menstrual hygiene products in schools. The students can simply pick the napkins independently and can change them frequently based on their need. This also sends out a positive message to girls, that the schools are sensitive to their needs and that menstrual hygiene is not a taboo but is necessary.

Installation of Automatic Incinerator
Sanitary pad incinerators provide an essential purpose to help put away menstrual waste in a sanitary and efficient fashion. There are various problems occurring due to the improper disposal of sanitary pads such as clogging of toilets in Schools, and environment pollution in case of improper disposal outdoors. This machine reduces pollution and lessens the burden of menstrual waste on the environment and public waste disposal systems.

In collaboration with various stakeholders and funders, Nirman Foundation has installed sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators at the community level and at 75 schools across 6 districts in West Bengal and Ranchi district in Jharkhand.
