Emergency Response

We aim to mitigate the impact of unprecedented events on people and the environment, contributing in relevant areas.

Period does not stop for Pandemic or a Cyclone

A significant impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns has been theeffect on menstrual health and hygiene management. Lack of availability, accessibility and affordability posed challenges in procuring menstrual absorbents and practicing safe menstrual hygiene. We have been able to contribute 7,000 packets of sanitary pads (56,000 pads) to relief kits distributed in Kolkata through a drive aimed to provide help to mothers and women during this difficult period in 2020 reaching out to 2000 women.

In the disastrous aftermath of Amphan cyclone in West Bengal, we have been able to provide 3000 sanitary pads to 500 women in Minakhan block of North 24 Parganas and 12,500 more sanitary pads reaching out to more than 1000 families, in areas such as Sandeshkhali, Basanti, Hingalganj, Kakdwip and more, partnering with individuals and networks like UPAJ India org, Sunderban Solidarity and JU Commune. We raised funds for this through crowd funding on the Milaap platform.
